Material: Cottony foams and bathtub.
“Pressure is a process that one tries to regulate his or her conditions when they are damaged or threatened. The process will last throughout one’s life till death.”
Hans Selye, a world-famous Canadian psychophysiologist, once said, “pressure is a process that one tries to regulate his or her conditions when they are damaged or threatened. The process will last throughout one’s life till death”.So I chose to apply videos to express a certain emotion or living status of human. Through the course of the work the man in the bathtub wanted to release his pressures but failed. I want to unfold the helplessness that modern people hold towards the constraints from pressures.
The bathroom represents privacy because it exists only in a person's home. A bubble represents stress, it represents the seemingly insignificant stresses in our world today, and when the amount reaches a certain point, it can also overwhelm a person.
For the last part, I took a influence from David's The Death of Marat, which critic Baudelaire once said has "There is no pedantic and mediocre place, there is not only a soft sentiment, but also a moving force. The painting is a dramatic spectacle. A very strong expressive force makes this work one of the wonders of modern art. "Similarly, such reference in the last part of my film also conveys a kind of resistance to pressure and a kind of escape. Unfortunately, no matter who we are, we can't escape from the cage of pressure.
